Poetry Review with Elizabeth Hazen

This summer and fall, poet Liz Hazen will be reviewing partial poetry manuscripts as a fundraiser for Good Contrivance Farm, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving GCF’s historic Maryland farm property while serving the local literary community through low-cost residencies, affordable writing workshops, and free craft talks by some of today’s most celebrated authors.

All proceeds will benefit the farm, and in exchange for your charitable donation, you’ll receive a markup of up to 12 pages of poems, an editorial letter from Liz, and a 30-minute Zoom consultation to talk about your work, your goals, and where you might consider submitting your poems for publication.

Interested poets will make a charitable contribution of $200 to Good Contrivance Farm, and in exchange, they’ll receive:

  • An editorial markup/line edit of their poems using both line-level proofing and notes.
  • An editorial letter of between 500 and 750 words commenting on the poems and providing comparable titles for review as well as suggestions of literary journals and publishers where the author might consider submitting their work.
